I’ve read a few blogs lately discussing seasonal sadness disorder and the winter blues.  I just want to let you know that you can still be hot when its cold.

Here are some reasons why I enjoy the darker months of the year…

Red wine tastes better.

The sound of the cello is an excellent compliment to the hazy chill of winter.

Your bed becomes a warm blanket cave.

The fashion isn’t so cheeky.

Everyone is baking.

I don’t have to shave my legs.

Candlelight makes life enchanting.

Hot coffee, hot tea, hot cocoa, hot espresso, hot cappuccino, hot cafe au laits, and hot lattes are best hot (and they make you feel hot).

During the cold times, what’s better than warming up next to the fireplace?  How about nothing.

Yesterday my cool neighbor Joe, (electrician, musician who lives in the mission) was knockin the door and informed me that they will be going out of town for the weekend. He asked if I would save their kitten Aristotle from any fires or other emergencies that may happen while they’re away.  No problem, I assured him.  In fact it works out great because Aristotle and I have been planning to hang out for awhile.  Half an hour later another knock, it’s Joe’s gal Rachael (who is always adorable) holding an adorable package.  The cuteness and sweetness of it all went straight to my head.  Mind you, this is all Rachael (no Martha hiding behind the bushes).  She is just one of those kind, creative people with honey running through their veins. She wrapped up a little thank you for me to chew on, the damn tastiest chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had.  I gotta say I lucked out living next to those two, i hope they are having fun.

Aristotle and I have already played a little I’ll scratch your back and keep on scratching it.

In route to Ritual’s overcrowded coffee bar, thoughts of Obama being elected added a swiftness to my stride.  I couldn’t believe it, I was feeling inspired. Then just as quickly, images of the last two elections smacked me back into reality and suddenly I felt I was dragging my old cynical self down the pavement.

In an effort to restore some sense of hope within myself, I am opting to stare into the eyes of inspiration and cast out that depressing, pessimistic attitude I have been carrying around for the last eight years plus.  Foolish maybe, but I am tired of being all drab and farty about everything.  But hey if you all out there want to remain cynical I understand.  In all fairness, how can you not be cynical after the last two elections.

The wave of optimism has made me delusional, suddenly I am doings things I would never normally do:

1- blog (blogging is for assholes, right?)

2- blog about something I find inspiring (gag-reflex, how narcissistic and gross)

Ok so here goes, a short list (in no particular order) of things I find inspiring.
